Alpha 2 Phase 1
Hey everyone! It’s been a long time since I last added anything to the Irkallu blog. It’s been a quiet few years in the guild, but we’ve become more active and gained a few new members due to Alpha 2 releasing.
I wanted to take some time to talk about our experiences in Alpha 2 so far (which is just Phase 1). I also want to thank all our members for creating such a warm, welcoming space.
About Alpha 2
So far, Alpha 2 has been quite enjoyable from my perspective. Sure, it’s an Alpha and we’re dealing with plenty of bugs, but it is a fun game with friends. We’re missing a lot of functionality, but that will be added over the next two phases.
The main things that we have now are a mostly functioning node system, with mayoral elections, building, and wok orders. This means that you can become a citizen of a node, elect a mayor, and start to build the things that will make people come to your node. There’s also a dungeon/raid, a working caravan system, and open world PVP with corruption.
Crafting, gathering, and processing are working well, and on our server the nodes are building the stations we need to progress our artisan skills.
Irkallu in Alpha 2
So, we’ve got a few people now who have joined us in Alpha 2. We had a few people already, but we’ve also attracted a few people during Alpha 2 as well. I’ve already said it before, but welcome everyone! I hope Irkallu is a good fit for you.
Irkallu is currently playing on the Arioch server. Our experience on there is that it is a very cooperative and organised community. What I mean by that is that the server has it’s own Discord, with channels for the various nodes, people discussing plans, mayors talking about what to build, and generally being a very welcoming space. The nodes are coordinating with each other, to make sure they build unique crafting stations, so that the server as a whole can grow and have what it needs. I’ve personally not experienced any open world PVP, but the mayors of the server organised a node war as a friendly thing to test the mechanics.
As a guild, we’ve done a bit of grinding, and a bit of crafting. We’ve hopped on voice chat in the guild Discord, and just had fun together. We’re helping each other out, and growing stronger in game. It’s been a good atmosphere, with plenty of goofing around.
It really feels like a community now that we're in-game together. I'm genuinely so relieved that it turned out this way.
